Answers

Is a food safety manager the same as a food safety supervisor?

Yes. Some states call the certification by a different name, but they are the same.

Does a certified manager need to be on the premises at all times?

That depends on how the law is written in your area. Please check with your local regulatory body. However, keep in mind that the manager is certified, not the company.

If I work in two different locations, can I be the manager for both?

Please check with your local Health Department.

Are we still covered if the food safety manager leaves our company?

No. You must take down his or her certification and have someone else sit for the examination.

Why can't I have the examination translated if I don't speak English?

National Registry provides food manager certification exams in the most requested languages. For exam security reasons, readers are not permitted to translate the exam. A Reader is an individual who reads the examination questions to a candidate who otherwise would not be able to read the examination (reading disability, English Proficient, visually disable, etc.) If you would like to request a reader, fill out an accommodation request form.
